A group of West Auckland homeowners have joined forces to ask authorities to buy out their flood-prone properties. West Auckland Is Flooding wants the local council, the Government, and insurance companies to pull together to pay for their red and yellow-stickered homes. Property lawyer Joanna Pidgeon says the Government and councils have no obligation to buy out these properties.
