Joan's Picks: Spare and Age of Vice

Spare by Prince Harry- Probably doesn’t need too much of an introduction!  Age of Vice by Deepti Kapoor- Big, epic, brilliant book set in India which has been described as being like The Godfather set in India. It’s a cross between a good old fashioned thriller and an epic family saga, roving between Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, which is controlled by the Wadia family through fear, corruption and bloodthirsty violence. Sunny Wadia’s servant Ajay (who as a boy was sold by his mother to settle an insurmountable debt) becomes enmeshed within this empire – as an enabler, an acolyte, and an apologist for his boss.
