Job 40 ‘When God Speaks’ In Job 41:1, the opening verse, describes something called "the Leviathan". What’s more puzzling isn’t so much the identity of Behemoth or Leviathan, but that forty-four verses devoted to them, at this point in the story. Think about that. Job is at the end of his tether when God finally speaks. He simply didn’t know the answer to any of God’s questions. Job confessed to his limitations as a finite human being.
