Jobe Returns as Tigers Push for Wild Card | Detroit Tigers News

Jackson Jobe, Detroit’s top pitching prospect and 2021 third overall draft pick, is back in the rotation after a grueling 15-month Tommy John recovery—his return against the Giants could be pivotal. With the Tigers’ pitching thin and offense on fire (32 runs vs. A’s), Jobe’s debut comes at a crucial juncture: a win keeps their playoff push alive, while a loss ends a promising road trip. To make room, struggling pitcher Brennan Hanifee is sent down to Triple-A. Jobe’s mission? Set the tone early, especially after a rare Montero blunder lost Game 1. With Dingler crushing it at the plate and behind the dish, the Tigers are now just two games out of a wild-card spot—and this game might be the one that seals their momentum.
