To call the July Nonfarm Payrolls report a disaster would be to put it mildly. The economy added just 73K jobs vs 110K expected. But the real disaster is the downward revisions to June and May that nearly wiped out all previously reported job gains. A combined 258K previously announced gains were revised away in the blink of an eye.
