Episode 51 Jodi Huisentruit In 1995, 27 Year-old morning news anchor, Jodi Huisentruit had a lot going for her and was a rising star at CBS affiliate, KIMT in Mason City, Iowa. Popular, friendly, and outgoing, a lot of people were drawn to Jodi. While she handled her success and busy life well, and didn't have too many concerns, there were some disturbing instances for Jodi leading up to June 27, 1995. On that day, Jodi was running late to her morning shift at KIMT. An associate called Jodi at her apartment, and Jodi who overslept said she would be in shortly. Jodi was never seen again. When police investigated the area around Jodi's apartment, they found troubling signs that she had struggled with someone and was likely abducted from just outside her apartment. The questioning of neighbors would only lead to more worrisome clues. Police didn't know if Jodi had been abducted by someone with in her circle of friends, or by a disturbed fan, so they had to consider all possibilities. Some people close to Jodi seemed to rise up on the chart of possible suspects, but 27 years later, there have been no arrests. Jodi is officially missing and was declared legally dead in May, 2001. The fact Jodi is presumed dead, and lack of arrests has not stopped people from searching for the truth in her case. In this episode, we are joined by Jodi's niece Kristen Nathe who provides us with a view of the case from the family's perspective. We are also joined by Caroline Lowe, a longtime reporter who's well-versed in Jodi's case. She's also part of the Find Jodi Website and podcast team. She walks us through the logistics and clues of Jodi's case- a case that has garnered national attention over the past 27 years.
