Joe Osmundson: Enemas

Molecular biophysicist and queer lit slut Joe Osmundson gets into it with Tina on the great debate of our time: saline vs water enemas. Discussed: the inner and outer world of the epithelium, why queer sexual health is under-studied, why you should listen to Frank Ocean while giving yourself an enema, why the douche and cuddle is the new Netflix and chill. //Joseph Osmundson is a scientist and writer based in New York City.  He has a PhD from The Rockefeller University in Molecular Biophysics.  His research has been supported by the American Cancer Society, published in leading biological journals including Cell and PNAS, and he's currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Biology at NYU.  His writing has appeared in The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Gawker, The Kenyon Review, The Rumpus, The Lambda Literary Review, and The Feminist Wire, and elsewhere, too.  His book, Capsid: A Love Song won the POZ Award for best HIV writing (fiction/poetry) and was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award.  His second book, INSIDE/OUT is now out from Sibling Rivalry Press (January, 2018).  He is represented by Katie Kotchman at Don Congdon Associates.  With three other queer writers, he co-hosts a podcast, Food 4 Thot, covering dicks drama, and discourse.  He's available for campus visits and readings via the contact form on his site.
