Joey Dwyer: NZ Herald Reporter says that Te Pati Maori supports a wealth tax

from Holiday Breakfast · host Newstalk ZB

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Chris Hipkins ruled out a wealth or capital gains tax under his leadership. But the Herald's "poll of polls" shows that Labour cannot govern without Te Pāti Māori or the Greens. Te Pati Maori launched their campaign last night in a street party in West Henderson. NZ Herald Reporter Joey Dwyer told Tim Dower that Te Pati Maori have said that a tax would help redistribute money held by the two percent, who control 50 percent of wealth. Te Pati Maori Co-Leader Rawiri Waititi says it's about time they pay their taxes to alleviate the pain many are living in, with 100-thousand people homeless - 60-thousand being Māori.
