Joey Porter Jr. and the Steelers Waiting Game | Pittsburgh Steelers News

Joey Porter Jr. and the Steelers are in a tense, unofficial standoff — no deal signed, no trade request filed, but whispers say he’s seeking a better payday. The team’s sticking to their “no negotiations during season” policy, but insiders believe both sides still want this to work. With Joey’s dad’s legacy in Pittsburgh, the Steelers hope he’ll follow in his footsteps — and maybe even outdo him. A gap in offers this offseason stalled things, but if Joey dominates in 2026, his value skyrockets. Next offseason? The Steelers might finally meet his price — keeping him long-term, just a little later than expected. For now, it’s a waiting game with no divorce in sight.
