She is a medical laboratory scientist in her early 30s and married with two adorable young daughters. She was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and we talked a good bit about how this has changed the trajectory of her life as a wife and young mother of two with no medical insurance. We often have our life planned; unfortunately, life sometimes happens, and we need to soldier on.
