His family send for Jesus but Jesus waits a few days before going to see Lazarus in Bethany. He learns that Lazarus has died. Mary and Martha say that if Jesus had come earlier Lazarus could have been healed of his sickness. However, Jesus came late on purpose. Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. While many believed in Jesus and spread the word about Jesus, the Pharisees saw Jesus as a threat to their power and their nation.
