In John 13:34-35, Jesus says, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."This scripture is teaching that love is the hallmark of a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Jesus commands his followers to love each other in the same way he has loved them, which includes sacrificially serving and laying down one's life for others. The love that Christians have for each other should be so evident that it sets them apart from the world and attracts others to the gospel.
