John 14:1-3: The First Rapture Prophecy

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit endtimes.substack.comToday I want to talk about one of the greatest promises in the Bible—John 14:1-3, which I believe is the first prophecy of the Rapture in Scripture.Jesus is in the upper room with His disciples the night before He’s betrayed and crucified. He’s preparing them for His absence, wanting them to find comfort and peace in this troubled world. In these precious verses, I see three key elements: a person, a place, and a promise. The person is Jesus Himself—notice all the personal references: “my Father’s house,” “I go,” “I will come again.” He’s not sending a representative; He’s coming personally. The place is the Father’s house with many dwelling places (not mansions, but simple rooms or dwelling places in that 1400-mile cube New Jerusalem). The promise is stunning: “I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”This is the first Rapture text—a signless event that could happen at any moment, unlike the Second Coming that has multiple signs in Matthew 24. But notice the practical application: this promise should have a calming influence on stirred hearts. In our turbulent world, remembering that Jesus is personally coming back for us should lift our hearts above whatever we’re facing and give us supernatural peace.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point!
