When Jesus turned to Peter and asked if he loved Him, Peter seemed a bit unsure, taking his time to respond. God understood Peter’s heart and recognized that he wasn’t quite in the mindset that Jesus hoped for him to be in. Yet, Jesus entrusted him with the important role of looking after His people.
