John 4:5-26 — Jesus and the Samaritan Woman (Ep.022), A. Third Sunday in Lent

In this reading. John 4:5-26, Jesus speaks with a Samaritan women at a well in Samaria. Jesus travelled through Samaria even though the Jews of that time usually avoided traveling there. He talked to the woman, even though men usually did not talk with women in such situations. He told her about her life. He told her that he is the Messiah. She later became a messenger about Jesus to her town. There were many reasons for Jesus to condemn her but he did not condemn her. Instead she became a messenger about Jesus to her town. This is encouraging to all of us. We should never feel like we are “not good enough” for God to use us.
