Growing up poor in 1970’s Drumchapel enduring his father’s violence, subsequently being placed in a children’s home and then being adopted and moving to Dundee, John recounts the significant moments in his life that inspired him to chase his dreams and leave the past in the past. Seeing the blockbuster film E.T. sparked a lifelong love affair with BMX which has taken him around the globe countless times. Firstly moving to Australia as a young man to pursue his goals, John now resides in California as global brand manager for Haro bikes. He has documented his life story in the book ‘Ride: BMX Glory, Against All The Odds, The John Buultjens Story’ and recently celebrated the release of ‘Ride’ on Amazon Prime (US) a movie inspired by his story starring rapper Ludacris. John is passionate about BMX and shares his truly incredible story to inspire and connect with others who dare to dream. Enjoy!
