Welshman John Cale is a founder member of The Velvet Underground and a prolific solo artist. Over a career spanning seven decades, he sings and plays a multitude of instruments (viola, piano, guitar, et al), always questing for something new. His work, though sometimes challenging, has moments of rare beauty and musical virtuosity.
