John Chapter 2 Bible Study Recap

What happens when Jesus steps into the ordinary—and what does Jesus actually want from His Church? In this episode of the Life His Way Podcast, Charlie Craige and Arthur Attrill continue their journey through the Gospel of John with John chapter 2. Recapping conversations from the FCA Men’s Bible Study at Georgia State University, they unpack Jesus’ first recorded miracle at the wedding in Cana, where He turns water into wine, and His powerful cleansing of the Temple in Jerusalem. But these stories are about much more than wine and flipping tables. Charlie and Arthur discuss how Jesus changes everything, the significance of the ceremonial water jars, obedience and transformation, righteous anger versus human anger, and why Jesus was so passionate about the holiness of His Father’s house. The conversation also turns toward the church today. What should we expect from the church? What does healthy church community look like? And before we become consumed with everything we think is wrong with “the Church,” are we willing to examine ourselves? Under the New Covenant, believers are temples of the Holy Spirit. Following Jesus isn’t only about evaluating what happens inside a church building—it requires allowing Jesus to confront, cleanse, and transform what is happening inside of us. 📖 Scripture: John 2 In this episode: • Jesus turns water into wine • The wedding at Cana • Why the ceremonial water jars matter • How Jesus changes everything • Obedience and transformation • Jesus cleansing the Temple • Righteous anger vs. selfish anger • What Jesus teaches us about the Church • Believers as temples of the Holy Spirit • Following Jesus beyond Sunday • What healthy Christian community looks like Jesus didn’t come simply to improve our old way of living.
