On Oct. 22, Spokane police officers received calls about an abandoned vehicle in a residential area and nearby park "with a foul odor" coming from it, the department said in a statement. Investigators soon confirmed their were human remains in the car which belonged to a 19-year-old male, identified by the Spokesman-Review as Andrew Sorensen. On Oct. 29, officers arrested 60-year-old John Eisenman, charging him with first-degree murder.Authorities said Eisenman reportedly learned in October 2020 that his daughter had been sold into a sex trafficking ring around Seattle, and Sorensen, identified as the boyfriend of the daughter "may have been the one responsible for her sale."
