On the 16th of August 1980, 11 year old friends John Greenwood and Gary Miller were out playing in their local neighbourhood of Whiston in Merseyside. A man was arrested and went to trial for the murders but this did not go as planned. Just this year, police and the families have stated they want to take this same man to trial again.
