John Hopkins University releases a gender study focusing on adolescence

Adverse childhood experiences like emotional neglect, violence and sexual abuse work together to cause specific health issues in early adolescence in the world's poor urban areas, often with life-long consequences. This is the crux of a new study from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the United States. The study looked at children between the ages of ten to fourteen years of age in the urban areas of Beijing, Baltimore, Nairobi and South Africa among others.
