John: Jesus Christ-The Word, Light, & Life (Chapters 1-3)

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory as the glory of the only begotten of the Father,” John 1:1-2, 14.Welcome you today to our study of the gospel of John. In this series of lessons, we're going to be looking at John chapters 1 through 3 and thinking about Jesus Christ as the Word, as the Light and as the Life. As we think about these lessons, we want to look at the practical teaching of Jesus and notice how that applies to our life in such a wonderful way.Today as we think about the book of John, we want to remind you of the great theme that John sets out in this book. John 20:30-31 says these words. “Truly Jesus did many other signs, many other miracles in the presence of His disciples which are not written in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God and that believing, you might have life in His name.”The book of John is uniquely tied together in such a way to show that that great premise, Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus is God is true and when you believe that and when you follow through with that belief, the Bible teaches, we can have eternal life through His name.(The full transcript is available in the "Download Document" button above.)
