John | More than a Victim | May 3

from Midtown Fellowship: Lexington · host Midtown Fellowship

Sermon by Michael Bailey on May 3, 2026.Key scripture: John 18:1-14In John 18:1–14, John goes out of his way to show us that Jesus was not a passive victim swept away by forces beyond his control — he was a sovereign Savior who advanced toward his own arrest with full knowledge, full authority, and full intention. Because the cross was something Jesus moved toward on purpose, we can trust his sovereignty in our own darkness, rest in the personal nature of his sacrifice, and worship rather than pity him.
