John Sturges

John Sturges nace en 1910 en Illinois. Su primera relación con el cine se da en la edición de películas. Participa en el montaje de Gunga Din (1939). Durante la II Guerra y la posguerra Sturges trabaja en documentales para el ejército americano, y tiene la oportunidad de colaborar con William Wyler. En 1948 realiza su octava película, Best Man Wins, sobre el cuento de Mark Twain: "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County".
