It was marketed as a pop song and made the Billboard chart in 1952, reaching number one.  Written by Johnny Standley and Art Thorsen (BMI Work #744156)  released by Standley on Capitol label.Musician, actor, and comedian from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who also lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Standley wrote (with Art Thorsen) and recorded "It's In the Book", a number one single on the Billboard Charts in 1952. The comedic recording sold over two million copies and received a gold record. During World War II, Standley served in the US Army and entertained the troops with Red Skelton and Dave Brubeck for the USO.
