Jon Yousko aka JY- The Burton Guy

In this episode I sit down with Jon Yousko aka JY.  We discuss his new endeavor with Skwala Fishing, Jake Burton, Punk Rock, Skateboarding and Simms.  I first met JY when I was working at the Troutfisher in Denver, CO in 1998.  I remember one day as he was leaving the shop a buddy referred to him as the Burton guy & this was right when the world of snowboarding started its explosion into the mainstream.  JY was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved out to Arizona when he was a teenager and was quickly immersed into the world of Punk Rock and Skateboarding (can’t wait to dive more into the details of this) and this eventually led him to the world of snowboarding and working for Burton.  JY spent 13 years working for Burton as a sales rep in the Southern Rockies covering CO & NM.  Spending time in the Rockies spawned his passion for fishing which eventually led him to Bozeman, MT, where he ended up working for Simms as a sales rep covering the Northern Rockies, MT, ID, WY for 9 years and it was when we reconnected which was a very cool reunion. After his time with Simms JY took a 10-year fishing, golfing and snowboarding reset bouncing back and forth from MT, BC and the Keys, where we actually co owned a property together.   Without spending time with JY, you would never know the attention to detail, hard work, smart decisions and passion JY puts into his play.  One cannot play at the level JY does without the commitment to the back end.
