God Relents, Jonah Resents 1. The Book of Jonah allows us to see many shades of mercy. How has Jonah challenged your conception of God's mercy? How does reading the experiences of your life through the lens of God's mercy change the way you understand them? 2. What might God be routing out of your life that is keeping you from knowing Him more fully and experiencing a sense of His love for you? In difficult times, do you sense God is moving toward you or abandoning you? 3. Do you struggle with anger and justifying your anger? Do you get angry when you don't get what you want? If so, what might the problem be, and what is a way forward? 4. Have you ever been angry at God? What does being angry at God say about a person's thinking about God? What should I do if I find myself harboring ill toward God? 5. Jonah closes with a question that calls the reader to ponder the mercy of God.
