Jonas Hayes Returns to Georgia Bulldogs as Assistant Coach

Jonas Hayes, a former Georgia Bulldogs hoops star, returns to Athens as assistant coach under Mike White for the 2026-27 season. Hayes, an Atlanta native, averaged nearly twelve points and over five boards in his last year with the Bulldogs from 2001 to 2004. He previously served as head coach at Georgia State from 2022 to 2026, with a record of 48-79, and led Xavier to an NIT title run in 2022. Hayes has eleven total seasons of experience with the Bulldogs as a player and coach, having transferred in with his twin brother Jarvis from Western Carolina. The Bulldogs are losing star guard Jeremiah Wilkinson and center Somto Cyril to the transfer portal, but Hayes and White plan to reload with fresh talent to build on last years momentum. Expect big moves from this crew as they aim to elevate Georgia basketball once again. Support the show:Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
