Jonathon Brooks sparks the Panthers offensive identity

Carolina Panthers' 34-17 preseason victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in August 2026. A major highlight was rookie running back Jonathon Brooks scoring a sentimental touchdown, a milestone he dedicated to his late father after returning from significant knee injuries. Defensively, Chau Smith-Wade showcased his adaptability and playmaking skills by recording a leaping interception. The articles also emphasize the offensive progress made by the starting unit, with players like Bryce Young and Jimmy Horn Jr. finding a productive rhythm. Although the team was missing several starters due to injury precautions, the overall performance served as a vital confidence builder for the roster. Ultimately, the reports suggest that while preseason results are unofficial, this win represented a significant step forward in establishing the team's identity.
