Jordon Rooney - CEO of Jaster Athletes Speaks on Amplifying Damar Hamlin's Positivity

Today on The Casey Adams Show I sat down with Jordon Rooney. Rooney, has always had an entrepreneurial mindset. A native of New Castle, Pa., an hour northwest of Pittsburgh, he played defensive back for nearby Westminster College before graduating in 2012 and heading overseas to play professionally in Serbia and Poland. He then founded his nonprofit, Never Fear Being Different — which works with youth and other nonprofits to amplify social impact — in 2015, before joining law firm Pond Lehocky Giordano as its director of digital marketing in 2018. Rooney left that role in 2020 to found Jaster, which seeks to amplify athletes’ brands through strategy and content creation, and Built Different Creative, a separate marketing agency geared toward companies rather than athletes. Jaster Athletes represents seven college football players for name, image and likeness deals, but Damar Hamlin is the agency’s only pro client. He was also its first client; when Hamlin entered the NFL Draft in 2021, he approached Rooney about being his marketing rep. Rooney agreed, taking it one step further by making Hamlin an equity holder in Jaster upon its launch that year.
