Jorge Guevara’s Royals Raffle Win for Venezuela | Kansas City Royals News

A Royals fan from Venezuela, Jorge Guevara, entered a charity raffle to help his earthquake-ravaged homeland — even using a second credit card when the first was declined. When he won $13,679, he saw it as a divine gift to give back, not keep. The Royals matched his donation to $20,000. Now, Guevara’s rallying cry: get MLB teams to match donations — especially targeting the symbolic number 13, honoring Salvador Perez. With legal backing and a mission to deliver medicine to Venezuela’s crumbling hospitals, he’s turning his win into a global humanitarian movement — proving that compassion knows no borders.
