Jose Reyes on the Blue Jays "It's good to see them go far."

from The StewPod: Baseball, pop culture & more · host by Yahoo Sports

Jose Reyes watched Game 3 of the American League Championship Series from a Times Square hotel, looking on as his old teammates with the Toronto Blue Jays won their first game of the series against the Kansas City Royals. If we told you back in April that the Blue Jays were in the ALCS, you'd probably figure that Reyes would be in the starting lineup. But then, in a shocking move, the shortstop was traded to the Colorado Rockies for Troy Tulowitzki. Reyes might be disappointed that's not in a Jays uniform in October, but he told The StewPod on Tuesday that he wasn't bitter. "It's good to see them go far," Reyes said. "I'm proud of that." He was at the Sheraton in Times Square as an ambassador for MLB, celebrating a new relationship between that makes Sheraton the official hotel of Major League Baseball. This is cool for baseball fans: Starting next year, if you stay at a Sheraton, you can stream out-of-market games for free through MLB.TV. Reyes also won a hot-dog dressing contest against chef Andrew Carmellini of Sausage Boss , so when we joined us for a special StewPod discussion, we had the opportunity to ask him a number of things. Like, his position in the age-old Internet debate about whether a hot dog is a sandwich: "A hot dog is a hot dog," he said. "A lot of people say it's a sandwich?" He also talked about the Mets, with whom he played for a number of season, and his friend David Wright: "He's like my brother. They're in good shape now." And we asked which players had impressed him this postseason: "The New York Mets pitching staff," he said. We also delved into his offseason plans, his rapping abilities and which other players in MLB can spit rhymes.
