Jose Trevino's Heart on the Field | Cincinnati Reds News

Cincinnati Reds catcher Jose Trevino is this year’s nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, honoring his extraordinary character and off-field impact. In just his second season, Trevino has become a beacon of community service—leading Make-A-Wish visits, personally funding a Texas youth team’s trip to Cincinnati, and hosting an annual toy drive in Corpus Christi where he even shows up as Santa by helicopter. His heartfelt efforts, especially for kids like Braxton, showcase a rare blend of compassion and action that embodies the spirit of the award. With Brent Suter nominated last year and Mookie Betts taking home the honor, Trevino’s nomination signals a rising star whose influence extends far beyond the diamond.
