Joseph's Dreams Come To Pass
from Sin and Sinners on SermonAudio Hosted by Mike Miller
The story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 42 is a picture of the sinner's encounter with Christ. Joseph's initial rough treatment and accusations serve to break down the brothers' self-righteousness and force them to confront their hidden guilt, just as the word of God and the Holy Spirit convict an unconverted person of their sin. Jesus taught that true salvation requires a good and honest heart that fully acknowledges transgression rather than offering partial truths or excuses. Joseph's careful dealing with them brings their past sins to the forefront where his weeping and kindness reveal the heart of God, who so desires reconciliation with lost mankind that He sent his Son to die for them and make provision for them to live forever and not perish.
