Joshua: Addicted to porn and sense of control
from Adam · host Adam Webber
Warning: This episode contains conversations about sex and addiction and may not be suitable for all audience members. Today Joshua called in to share his fear and his story about overcoming addiction. Joshua talks about a sexual trauma that he experienced as a young child that had long lasting impacts that rippled out into his adult life. That plus the home upbringing that he had caused him to develop a relationship with alcohol and a pornographic sex addiction that he used as a way to give him a sense of control over his life. Joshua and I spoke about his early childhood experiences, conversations that parents have or don’t have with their kids about sex, self-criticism and the stories that we tell ourselves, seeking treatment and getting help, how the internet is shaping young kids relationships and intimacy with their partners, the website OnlyFans, hiding our addictions, family and Joshua’s mission in life to help others who are going through the hardships of sex addiction. Joshua has been there before and is an amazing source of help for anyone who needs it. I had an amazing time talking and learning from him today. Joshua is a Pornography Addiction Expert, Author, TEDx Talk Speaker and you can find his website here: www.RecoveringPornAddict.com Books here: www.amazon.com/author/joshuashea Twitter: https://twitter.com/PAddictRecovery
