Joshua and the General

Scripture: Joshua 5:13-15; 6:1-5  Intro   1. When you Dare to Draw Near to God  a. You will face trials, in order to take you into deeper transformation (consider it pure joy, when you face trials of every kind…; God will save you as is,  but He will never leave you as is).       b. You will receive suffering             i. Though God is not the author of suffering, we learn that suffering is not outside of His control.            ii. Suffering is used to give you the right perspective of Him, to reveal your true heart towards Him, and to lean fully upon Christ.   2. Today we will learn that when you Dare to Draw Near to God       a. Your faith will be tested   3. Two Questions:      a. How we we are going to get the courage to face our test of faith?      b. How we are going to get the way to do it?   4. Background on Joshua   I. See the Holiness and Greatness of God vs 5:13-15     a. Joshua recognizes the Holiness of the person before him.     b.
