Joshua part 3

Continuing our series at the Mossvale Men's Meeting, Joshua 3 reminds us of one of the Bible’s greatest promises: God is with His people. As Israel stood at the Jordan River, facing an unknown future, God showed that He was still the same faithful God who had been with Abraham, Moses, and Israel throughout their history. The ark of the covenant went ahead of the people as a visible reminder of God’s presence and leadership, and when the priests stepped into the flooded Jordan, God miraculously stopped the waters so that Israel could cross on dry ground. The message was clear: even when God’s people are going somewhere they have never been before, they do not go alone. Today, we experience God’s presence not through the ark, but through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, God’s Word, prayer, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the fellowship of His people. Whatever uncertainty, grief, or new season we may face, Christ remains with us. As Jesus promised, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The great encouragement of Joshua 3 is simple: you may not know the way ahead, but you can trust the God who goes before you and remains with you always.
