A new report claims that authorities in Kenya have committed a range of abuses against journalists in the lead up of August elections in the country. Human Rights Watch, alongside Article 19 Eastern Africa, released a report titled ‘Not worth the Risk’: Threats to Free Expression Ahead of Kenya’s 2017 Elections,”. The report documents abuses by government officials, police, county governors, and other government officials against the media.
