Journey Back | Mama Gena

from Intimate Conversations

I had the great honor of interviewing Regena Thomashauer (aka Mama Gena). She was real, raw, authentic, and so full of energy. Journey Back to one of the best interviews of my career (so far...xoxo). A little about "Mama Gena": Regena Thomashauer — the one and only "Mama Gena" — is a teacher and best-selling author, mother and media personality, and founder and CEO of the School of Womanly Arts, which began in her living room in 1998 and has since grown into a global movement. Regena believes that women are the greatest untapped natural resource on the planet, and that as people of all genders reclaim the magnificence of the feminine, the patriarchy will fall away, liberating us all. She's dedicated her work to women, specifically, because Regena knows Woman. And while Woman is an expansive concept (there are so many ways to be a woman), those of us who identify as women are connected through a common global experience of oppression. We are living in a culture that shames our bodies, rebukes our emotionality, fears our sexuality, violates our safety, and makes us wrong for having feminine aspects, for being women at all. p.s.
