Journey from Egypt to Mt Zion Pt 12 ~ Following the Torah is Stepping into Covenant

from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney

In this teaching segment we ask the question “How do we follow Yeshua’s torah?” Following Yeshua’s Torah falls into two main categories: *The vertical: Showing that we love God with all our heart, our mind, and our strength. *The horizontal: Showing that we love one another and treat one another properly. The God of Israel wants his people to know him intimately. Knowing him means knowing His character and His ways. In this teaching segment, we are going to look at four main attributes of God that associated with His kingdom and his throne. They are: *truth (emet) *mercy(checed) *righteousness (tsedeqah) *judgment (mishpat) At Mt Sinai, Yeshua entered into a marriage relationship with his people (Exodus 19:5). The terms and conditions of this marriage is based upon the people keeping his commandments or following His Torah. This marriage offer was accepted by the people of Israel (Exodus 19:8). The Torah is seen as the ketubah (or marriage document) between the God of Israel and His people. Who was it that received the Torah at Mt Sinai? Exodus 19:3 tells us that it was the house of Jacob: And Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel.
