Journey Interview

I had the opportunity, as founder of Houston Latina Collaborative, to sit down with Journey director Cristopher Rodriguez for a conversation about the film, immigration, family separation, Latino storytelling, and why stories like this matter so deeply right now. A special thank you to Orlando Briones, one of the film’s writers, for helping make this conversation possible. We are all Houstonians, all connected to immigrant families, and this film was created from a place that feels deeply familiar to so many in our community. Journey opens in theaters this weekend, including Regal Edwards Houston Marq*E, with additional Houston-area theaters listed on the film’s official site. This weekend, show up. Fill the seats. Support a Houston-made Latino film. Support the storytellers who are putting our families, our humanity, and our experiences on the big screen. Let our presence in those theaters be a visible act of advocacy and a reminder that our stories deserve to be told and seen. In theaters October 2.
