The story of Abraham is one of the great foundational stories of the Bible. We will engage in a close reading of this great narrative and its various intertexts to uncover its central themes and how they engage their immediate context and beyond. A close reading of Genesis 16-25 will analyze Abraham’s journey as he aspires to fulfill his covenantal role as father of nations and father of Israel.
