Journey to the West EP1:The Stone Monkey

from Delusion | BookTalk

In the world where everything began, the heavenly god Pangu split the chaotic void, giving birth to an orderly universe. In the Flower-Fruit Mountain of the Eastern Continent in this universe, a celestial stone absorbing the essence of heaven and earth transformed into a stone monkey, thereby rewriting its destiny. This stone monkey is the Sun Wukong we are familiar with. His innate intelligence and courage made him stand out among the monkeys, eventually being revered as the Handsome Monkey King. However, upon initially tasting the glory of leadership, he gradually realized the limits of life and embarked on a quest for immortality. Sun Wukong apprenticed under Master Subhuti, who bestowed upon him his name and taught him diligently. Sun Wukong mastered the 72 transformations and the somersault cloud, beginning his path to greatness. As the eldest disciple, he taught the monkey tribe day and night, aspiring to forge a mighty monkey army. The Handsome Monkey King infiltrated the Aolai Kingdom, used magic to seize weapons, and even acquired the Ruyi Jingu Bang from the Dragon Palace. But did Sun Wukong stop there? After causing havoc in the Netherworld, he even forced the Ten Generations of Yama Kings to erase the monkeys' names from the Book of Life and Death, rejecting the governance of mortality. In the face of the Jade Emperor, Sun Wukong, with his bravery and wisdom, entered the Heavenly Palace, marking the start of an extraordinary journey. Join us this episode to explore the fantastical journey of Sun Wukong, from a stone monkey to the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!Maybe during hot summer nights as a child, you listened to your grandfather tell stories of the monkey king who stormed the heavens.
