Series: Advent 2025

Pastor: Pastor Patrick Dailey

Sunday Morning

Date: 14th December 2025

Passage: Isaiah 35:1-10

-------------------

Welcome to Ontario Community Church's Sermon Podcast.

In this sermon recording, Pastor Patrick Dailey preaches on Isaiah 35:1-10 titled: Joy Breaks Through the Wilderness. (Advent 3 - Joy)

What the passage reveals:

  • The wilderness and dry land will be glad; the desert will blossom abundantly
  • They will see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God
  • Strengthen the weak hands, make firm the feeble knees
  • The eyes of the blind shall be opened, the ears of the deaf unstopped
  • The lame will leap like a deer, the mute will sing for joy
  • Waters will break forth in the wilderness, streams in the desert
  • A highway of holiness will lead God's people home
  • The ransomed of the LORD will return with everlasting joy upon their heads

We'll explore how true joy comes when we see God's promises fulfilled, patiently endure like farmers waiting for harvest, and recognize that Jesus is the One we've been waiting for. Even John the Baptist had his doubts—yet Jesus pointed to the very miracles Isaiah prophesied.

Connected readings: Psalm 146:5-10; James 5:7-10; Matthew 11:2-11

May the joy of the Lord be your strength this Advent.
