Kyle Kauffman | May 01 2022 Doctrine matters to our faith. Right doctrine is central to our faith. We need to know what we believe and why we believe it. But we can so easily make assent to right doctrine the end of our faith. And if we desire right doctrine simply so that we can say we are right, we are missing out on why doctrine matters in the first place: because it enables us to know a person: Jesus Christ. Joy is not found in simply knowing the right answers, but in knowing a person. Just as the accuracy of our faith is wrapped up with Jesus actually coming as a person, so to the continuing joy of our faith is found in knowing the person of Jesus.
