This covenant is ultimately fulfilled in 2 Samuel 9, when David shows extraordinary kindness to Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth, restoring his family’s land and inviting him to sit at the king’s table, symbolizing God’s covenant kindness extended to us through Jesus.
