She is the author of numerous books including Shadowboxing: Representations of Black Feminist Politics, Resisting state violence, and Seeking the Beloved Community. She has edited collections including The Angela Y. Davis Reader, Imprisoned Intellectuals, and The New Abolitionists. Her most recent book In Pursuit of Revolutionary Love published with Divided Press in December of last year and includes a foreword by Da’Shaun L.
