JPEGMAFIA

JPEGMAFIA is an alternative hip-hop artist based in Baltimore, Maryland. With his many influences ranging from metal to reggae, JPEGMAFIA creates a soundscape full of obscure samples, atonal synths, and head-nodding distorted base. I had the chance to speak to JPEG some months ago about many topics including: his older projects under different stage names, approach to production and songwriting, experiencing prejudice, hate mail, honing his craft while overseas in the army, performing at the Gathering of the Juggalos and much more!
