ジャズサックス奏者の菊地成孔さんです。演奏家活動の一方で、映画、ファッション、グルメから格闘技まで、様々なジャンルでの原稿執筆や対談。さらには東京大学教養学部を皮切りに、慶応大学、東京芸術大学、国立音楽大学などで非常勤講師として授業を担当。いまも私塾「私立ペンギン音楽大学」を主宰し、アテネフランセ映画美学校で音楽美学講座メソッド科主任講師をつとめたりと、本当に忙しい日々を送っていらっしゃいます。
