When looking for an individual sitting on the throne of David, we automatically think it must be the Pharez line which is recorded in the New Testament genealogies.  However, we must read the prophecy out of Jeremiah 33:17 carefully.  When we look at the Zara line as well, the promise is still ongoing, and we can see God's hand in History making all of this come to pass.  The same can be seen when we look at Benjamin, and the Levites.
